The Fujara Sessions

The fujara is a shepherd's flute from the Slovak mountains: three metres of wood, three finger holes, and a voice that carries across valleys.

The Fujara Sessions presents a series of surprising encounters in which the fujara finds itself in adopted territory, its ancient sound placed alongside instruments such as the paetzold recorder, the gemshorn, and the toy piano.

Through improvisations, new compositions, and early music, these sessions explore the sonic properties of the fujara in unexpected company, revealing new textures and possibilities within this venerable instrument.
